5 Star Cases will once again be displaying a selection of its ‘standard’ flightcase ranges available from the wide range of case styles and specifications, as well as highlighting its custom design and build capabilities.
A recent addition is the Touring Production Rack. Aimed at lighting, sound and theatre technicians, this foam-suspended rack system features a fold away TFT monitor and a keyboard drawer plus various 19” rack-bays. Primarily designed to house a Mac Pro, it can also be built to accommodate a range of PC system cabinets.
Also on display will be 5 Star’s newly launched ‘Arena’ range of general purpose road trunks, built to the usual top quality 5 Star construction, without putting a strain on finances in these challenging times. Arena trunks are available in three sizes, the Arena 600, 900 and 1200 from stock (black only) or to order in 5 Star’s standard range of colours. All are finished with the standard high quality Penn-Elcom hardware.
5 Star’s Tour Grade is another popular professional range, featuring cases of the highest quality and strength, built to withstand the rigors of constant touring and travelling. Tour Grade specified cases are particularly relevant to the entertainment industry – and have been very successful in rock ‘n’ roll, concert touring, conference and event production sectors.
5 Star has produced Tour Grade products for a myriad of uses including wardrobe trunks for touring theatres, complete exhibition display systems as well as the housing moving and generic lighting fixtures.
Recent 5 Star ‘bespoke projects’ really illustrate the diversity and imagination involved in delivering special one off case projects. These have included the design and supply of a complete flight case solution for the 2009 BBC’s ‘Blast on Tour’ outreach project; working with leading DJ equipment manufacturer Pioneer to design a case to house their latest cutting edge professional DJ system; and the supply of a set of special ‘workshop’ trunks for all the competing pilots in the Red Bull Air Race.
