Award winning events super group, 5CATFish, has taken delivery of a K-Array Redline PA which is now accompanying them on the road throughout the UK.
5CATFish are made up of pro audio luminaries and session musicians, Andy Lewis, James Shears, Jay Cresswell, Tim Gray, Craig Blundell, Andy Duffield and Ben Cole and the band is dedicated to delivering a better kind of musical event experience.
Band leader and keyboard player, Andy Lewis, takes up the story.
“When clients organise an event, a celebration, corporate function or a wedding, they need to be sure that the band and the DJ will deliver. There are very few things worse than a perfect day being ruined by a band or DJ who don’t view the event from a professional perspective and don’t or can’t play what the clients want to hear.
“5CATFish simply deliver a better musical experience. Musically we’re all very competent musicians and session people and the band also travels with a professional DJ as part of the team. But, unlike so many covers and functions bands and DJs, we always strive to deliver the entertainment the client wants and, crucially, the professionalism with which we approach every booking – with full site visits and client consultations – is unique.”
With their professional service already recognised – 5CATfish were named “Entertainment Supplier of the Year” in the 2008 Wedding Industry Awards – the band is now in demand across the UK and is looking to expand their reach further into the corporate entertainment world.
As a result, they needed a compact, robust and powerful PA to accompany them and they found all this in the remarkably compact form of a 4000watt K-Array Red Line KR200S system.
5CATFish bass player, Jay Cresswell explains;
“We were first introduced to K-Array by Sennheiser UK. We were all incredibly impressed by the power and clarity of the sound. With great separation and loads of power to spare in a system you can virtually pack in the boot of your car, K-Array is perfect for transport and easy set up too – especially in venues where space is limited.
“Although we’d seen pictures of the thin satellite speakers and the compact drive units, if we hadn’t heard the system we would never have believed it could sound so good!”
5CATFish’s busy schedule continues with gigs throughout the summer and with an album planned for Christmas. They can be reached on the web at www.5catfish.com or via MySpace; www.myspace.com/5catfish
