David Atkinson Lighting Design (DALD) picked up two awards at the prestigious 2011 Lux Awards, one of which was for a project supplied by A.C. Special Projects Ltd. (ACSP).
The Lux Awards is a unique event that celebrates both creativity and sustainability within the lighting industry. Organised by Lux magazine and the Lighting Industry Federation (LIF), it’s designed to recognise clients and end-users who have used lighting in exceptional ways to improve their lit environment – and also to reduce energy consumption.
DALD won the Award for ‘Architectural Lighting Project of the Year’ for Sky Backstage and Sky Gallery at The O2, London, which ACSP supplied a complete effects lighting solution for. In addition, DALD won the ‘Lighting Design Practice of the Year’ Award for being ‘the consultancy which has exhibited the highest standards of innovation’.
A.C. Special Projects Acting Manager, James Bawn, commented: “We would like to congratulate David Atkinson on winning these influential Awards. A.C. Special Projects are proud to have worked with DALD on another award-winning design. It’s always a pleasure to help bring David’s innovative lighting schemes to life.”
Over the years ACSP has worked with DALD on many prestigious projects, including the award-winning British Music Experience (BME) at The O2 and the Centre of the Cell at Whitechapel in London.
