A.C. Entertainment Technologies (AC-ET) Ltd. recently held an exclusive TV & Broadcast Lighting Open Day for STLD members at their state-of-the-art demo facilities in High Wycombe, UK.
The STLD (The Society of Television Lighting and Design) provide a forum that stimulates the free exchange of ideas in all aspects of the television profession, offering members a range of benefits including regular Society gatherings and visits to manufacturers, suppliers and production facility centres.
Staged at AC-ET’s High Wycombe HQ, the open day was presented by AC-ET’s Northern Lighting Sales Manager, Kevin Fitz-Simons and TV & Film Sales Executive, Gordon Smith in conjunction with STLD’s Sponsor Liaison, Bernie Davis.
Greeted with a warm welcome, the STLD guests enjoyed refreshments before receiving a full tour of AC-ET’s facilities – including the popular in-house Cable Express custom cable assembly and Gel Express custom scrolls and filter assembly facilities. This was followed by a series of comprehensive product demonstrations from leading TV & Broadcast lighting brands including Chroma-Q™, Jands Vista, SGM and Spotlight.
Chroma-Q LED products on show included the hugely popular Studio Force™ white light range, and the ultra bright Color Force™ RGBA range.
Developed specifically for use in film, TV and broadcast studio environments, the new Studio Force Phosphor™ range utilises innovative LED technologies, providing an equivalent soft edge output to a fluorescent fixture – up to 8,000 lumens. There’s a choice of standard daylight (5,600K) white and variable (3,200 – 5,600K) white colour temperature versions, with the variable version offering fine-tuning of the green and magenta tints and frequency for camera.
The Studio Force range also includes a choice of daylight and variable white conventional LED models available in compact, multi-purpose and batten designs.
All Studio Force LED models are also available as the Color Force™ RGBA lineup, which delivers power across the spectrum, from bold colours to super soft pastels, all from a single fixture.
AC-ET’s technical staff demonstrated a selection of Jands lighting and media control hardware – from the latest Stage CL, an ultra compact and user friendly console designed specifically to control LEDs; to the flagship large format Vista L5 console, which features a sleek design, dominated by a stunning 21” HD screen.
Jands’ next generation Vista v2 software offers a simple, visual approach to lighting and media control – ideal for Lighting Designers working in a fast paced TV and broadcast environment.
As part of the open day, guests were invited to the Royal Windsor Racecourse where they enjoyed lunch and further lighting product demonstrations against a backdrop of horse racing.
AC-ET’s Gordon Smith explains that “The open day was a great success, allowing STLD members to have an in depth look at the extensive range of TV and Broadcast lighting services and products available from AC-ET.”
In addition to the aforementioned products, AC-ET also distribute a wide selection of leading TV, Film and Broadcast entertainment technology products from Mole Richardson, Manfrotto, Avenger, Green Hippo, Daylight Textiles and many more.
AC-ET will be showcasing their TV lighting technology portfolio at the BVE North Show in Manchester on 13th/14th November (Hall D, Stand 60).
