Following huge interest in A.C. Entertainment Technologies Ltd’s free dedicated 2012 digital switchover open days last year in partnership with leading wireless equipment brands, Sennheiser and Shure, the company’s Audio division is pleased to announce it will be holding more events in March 2011.
As a distributor of leading wireless microphone and IEM equipment brands, A.C. Audio has been keenly following the Ofcom ruling with a view to advising users on how they can best prepare for the switch to Channel 38 (606-614 MHz) in 2012.
Forming part of this service, the upcoming open days will be held at AC-ET’s UK offices in conjunction with the manufacturers as follows:
• South (High Wycombe) with Shure on 9th March
• North (Leeds) with Sennheiser on 17th March
The format of the events will remain the same, with attendees receiving an in-depth 2012 digital switchover Q&A session by members of the BEIRG committee and demonstrations of the manufacturers’ new Channel 38 compliant equipment, as well as showcasing other brand ranges distributed by Sennheiser and Shure.
Last year’s open days have proven a sound investment for attendees, with much positive feedback received afterwards. James Hudson, Director of Futurist Sound & Light, commented: “We’ve attended a couple of seminars previously at AC-ET, and indeed in this instance visited both open days at their High Wycombe and Leeds offices as we were keen to learn as much as possible about the ramifications of the digital switchover. It was time well spent and provided us with a great opportunity to get hands on with all of the new gear, as well as to spend time with the manufacturers and members of the BEIRG committee who were on hand to answer any questions. Plus the Indian buffet lunch they provided was excellent!”
William Brown, owner of Libra Audio and a freelance sound engineer, commented: “I had previously attended another A.C. Audio open day and found it a good experience. Again, this event was very well managed and extremely hospitable. It had good content and the right level of interaction.”
Tom Blackband, Technical Manager of Production Light & Sound, commented: “Thanks for what was a very informative day. I was particularly impressed with the cue function on the Shure in-ear system. Great lunch too.”
A.C. Audio have also launched a new dedicated 2012 digital switchover microsite (visit www.ac-et.com/audio) providing everything users need to know about the switchover, including frequently asked questions, the latest Sennheiser and Shure Channel 38 compliant wireless equipment product ranges available from the company and other useful industry web sites.
With the record level of Channel 38 equipment required to switch the whole industry over by the 2012 deadline, A.C. Audio are ready now to supply popular wireless equipment brands and models, ensuring companies can start future proofing their investment ahead of any potential equipment shortage issues faced by the industry nearer to the deadline. This includes carrying stock of the Sennheiser G3 GB 100, 300 and 500 series systems, 2000 series, 300 series IEM and Shure UHF-R, SLX, and PSM900 IEM Channel 38 compliant products. Sennheiser are currently offering 0% finance over a two-year period on Channel 38 wireless equipment purchases. This offer is subject to status, eligibility, terms and conditions.
The sales division also supplies the latest compliant wireless products from AKG, Audio Technica and Beyerdynamic among others.
