No less than five new products will make their Pro Light+Sound début on Booth B36 in Hall 11.1 as ADB Lighting continues to expand its product range.
The list is headed by the revolutionary new ALC4 modular LED Cyclorama light, previewed at IBC 2009, which has already been specified in large numbers for the current Jean Michel Jarre European tour as well several major television studios. The first Cyclorama fixture of its kind in the world, the ALC4 is highly energy efficient, using four advanced RGB+White LED light sources to deliver the equivalent of 1250W of halogen power for an actual power consumption of just 160W. Capable of providing over 1 million shades of colour, including pure yellow and soft ambers, for extra ease of use the ALC4 provides seven user-selectable white light presets from 2700K to Daylight 6500K.
The new WARP DAYLIGHT Follow Spot, a versatile Follow Spot version of the standard WARP DAYLIGHT fixture, has been developed in response to market demand by ADB Germany. A compact, powerful and easily controllable alternative to bulky condenser-optic follow spots, the operational advantages are obvious in the confined space of a follow spot cabin, above a stage, on a front of house lighting bridge, or on a follow spot chair mounted in a truss. Another key benefit is its extremely high light output and clear beam – with only a quarter of the power demand of 2500 Watt condenser-optic follow spots.
Also showing is the full production version of ADB’s new flagship dimmer, EURODIM Twin Tech, which offers the best of all dimming technologies by allowing users to combine sine wave, thyristor and fluorescent-compatible thyristor modules of different ratings within a single standardized cabinet. The brand new DimSwitch module is a dual capability thyristor module which can act both as a switch for normally non-dimmable resistive, inductive and capacitive loads or as a normal dimmer. DimSwitch reduces installation costs because fewer cables and outlets are required. The new ADB Dimmer Manager software detects the rating and type of the installed modules and reports to the operator the status of each module and channel, safeguarding against incorrect module combinations.
The WARP range of cool-beam zoom profile spotlights is expanded with the new optional choice of two optical systems for the WARP DAYLIGHT fixture to suit the application.
WARP DAYLIGHT fixtures are now available with a choice of two specific optical systems, in special rental versions and also as motorised remote controlled profile spotlights. The Peak Performance optical system offers maximised lumen output, with an ellipsoidal reflector optimised for high light output. The fixture gives an extra ‘punch’ of light, very useful for display and highlighting of scenic elements and actors. This optical system is also used in the new WARP Daylight Followspot. The High Quality Imaging optical system features an ellipsoidal mirror optimised to project a uniform field, perfect for pattern projection. This fixture can be used for applications where the design requires very even light distribution, for example to uniformly cover an acting area, or for high quality gobo projection.
Finally, the newly expanded MIKAPACK 15 and 30 entry-level dimmer range is designed to enhance programming functionality and flexibility for customers looking for simple yet reliable equipment built to the highest ADB quality standards. MIKAPACK is a range of 6 channel or 12 channel 3 kW all-digital dimmer packs combining the performances and the reliability of a professional dimmer at a very competitive price.
MIKAPACK 15 is a six-channel compact portable dimmer built in a 19” rack only 2 Units high, with an optional truss clamping kit for distributed dimming solutions. It’s now joined by the newly-launched 12 channel 3kW dimmer pack, the MIKAPACK 30 dimmer module mounted in a 24 channel flight case.
