This year, Europe’s favorite TV show is taking place in the Olympiyski Indoor Arena in Moscow. Viewers from around Europe tune in to watch 42 countries compete. Every year, the set designers of the Eurovison song contest raise the bar of visual creativity and this year is no exception.
For this year’s edition, Barco partner Procon Event Engineering has 40 trailers of technical equipment, featuring many creative LED, digital projection, lighting and image processing from Barco. Viewers can see a total of 735 OLite LED tiles, 6200 MiPIX modules, six SLM R12+ projectors and six CLM R10+ projectors used with the PufferSpheres®. All video is fully controlled by Barco image processing equipment. Two Encore systems and 24 Image Pro HD’s make sure the show runs smoothly. In addition, Eurovision also features 18 Catalyst media server systems and a Wholehog lighting control desk.
Morten Carlsson, CEO at Procon Event Engineering, says “For a high profile show like the Eurovision Song Contest, we need equipment that is 100% dependable. From our longstanding relationship with Barco we know that they can deliver video and lighting equipment we can trust to perform.”
