Behringer has announced a range of new products to be launched this year including new amps, speakers and mixers. More details on the new products can be found below.
B208D and B210D Loudspeakers
The B208D is a high powered 220-watt 2 way PA sound reinforcement speaker for live and playback applications. It’s compact and light weight and works well even at extreme SPLs. Featuring an 8″ long-excursion driver it is able to produce deep bass and acoustic power, high frequencies are catered for via the 1.35″ aluminium compression driver. It sports a line out allowing you to link in additional speakers and also has a mic/line input with volume control giving you a basic setup in one unit. Finally it also come equipped with high and low EQ controls to help get the speaker sounding just right.
The B210D offers identical features to the 208D, but instead comes equipped with a 10″ long-excursion driver.
EPX2000 and 3000 Power amps
The same technology that drives the above powered loudspeakers is at the heart of the EPX Poweramp line as well. The EPX2000 is a 2 x 1000 watts into to 2 ohms; 2 x 650 watts into 4 ohms or 2000 watts in 4 ohms (bridged) amplifier. The EPX300 is capable of delivering slightly more power at 2 x 1500 Watts into 2 Ohms; 2 x 900 Watts into 4 Ohms or 3000 Watts into 4 Ohms (bridge mode).
Both units offer an ultra-light, ultra-low noise and ultra-efficient switch-mode power supply for noise-free audio, superior transient response and low power consumption. Switchable limiters offering maximum output level with reliable overload protection, built-in Subwoofer/Satellite crossover for more flexibility. Independent DC and thermal overload protection on each channel which automatically protects amplifier and speakers without shutting down the show. The whole package is contained inside a rugged, impact resistant 2U rack mount chassis.
SX4882 and SX3282 Mixers
Whether recording in the studio, running live house sound, recording a live show, or for use as a stage monitor mixing board, the feature-packed SX4882 does it all. Designed with live performance versatility and recording necessities built in, this console combines years of every sound engineer’s wants and needs into one high-performance machine. It may not get you free beer or groupies, but the SX4882 rocks for live-sound and recording. It’s an ultra-low noise design 48/24-Input 8-Bus In-Line Mixer with XENYX Mic Preamplifiers, British EQs and Integrated Meterbridge. The SX4882 should be ideal for live mixing where you are also trying to take a recording as well.
If you’ve ever tried to make a recording off of the board during a live show, you know how well that works. Often input and output levels necessary for quality recording do not match the requirements of the live mix, where stage volumes factor in to the overall room sound. Getting around that issue used to require a splitter and second mixer just for recording. Now that is eliminated by having an in-line mixer in your live board.
On the other hand, if you’re looking for old-school analogue handling in a package armed to the teeth with modern reliability, the SX3282 might fit the bill. This mixer’s British EQ, 24 mic inputs (each with its own built-in studiograde XENYX preamp), 8 stereo inputs and 8 buses give you enough leeway to craft the recording of your dreams or create the perfect mix for a live show.
