UK wireless LED lighting manufacturer CORE Lighting are at the 2015 PLASA London expo at the ExCeL Centre on Stand C24, which is also part of UK distributor White Light’s ‘Village’ and where they will be displaying a range of their latest innovations.
CORE products are known for the high quality and excellent engineering that comes with the ‘Made in the UK’ marque. As an independent company, CORE can also react quickly and decisively to market demands and ensure its products stay at the forefront of the fast-moving live events industry.
Featured products at PLASA will include CORE’s new StripPoint which will be prominent on the stand display together with the flagship ColourPoint, which has become an industry standard product for the live event industry. The tiny PinPoint will have a BIG presence with an array of PinPoints controlled by CORE’s new LightDesk phone App, and CORE’s industrial strength FLOOD30 will also make an impact.
The intense power, light weight, longevity, robust build and innate user-friendliness of all these … has all made CORE a market leader in the specialist area of wireless LED lighting.
CORE’s Phil Ion comments, “We hope to connect with industry professionals from all over the UK at PLASA, and meet new and potential clients as well as catch up with our existing customers and end-users as the trend for both wireless, battery powered LED technology increases”.
StripPoint is a 1 metre long unit featuring 18 x mappable RGBW LEDs which emit an impressive 4000 lumens whilst drawing only 75W of power! Each LED cell can be individually colour controlled via a homogenous 4-colour mix, so 72 x DMX channels are required to run the unit in ‘wide’ mode, and stunning pre-programmed effects can be produced as a result.
The StripPoint is completely battery powered – lasting over 8 hours – and can be run totally wirelessly (via WDMX) or via a wired DMX feed if preferred. It is IP65 rated for outdoor use, and at 5 Kgs, compact and light enough to be discreetly ensconced in various cavities as well as hung from trussing, stands and other structures.
For full flexibility, units can also be mains powered if desired, and a selection of lenses is available to vary the beam angles.
CORE’s signature ColourPoint Mk 2 is a popular lightweight lithium battery powered LED event up-lighter with full wireless DMX control.
It is IP65 rated and fully weatherised for outdoor and indoor use, the output can illuminate up to 3 storeys of architecture, medium sized trees and foliage, etc. – the only fixture of its class that can achieve this coverage. It is also ideal for wall-washing in marquees, rooms and other spaces.
Features include inbuilt programmes like ‘colour scroll’, selectable ‘master/slave’ modes and PWM frequency control for flicker-free operation in TV studios and for other broadcast / video applications.
Utilising the latest quad-chip RGBW technology, the ColourPoint’s colour mixing is smooth and homogenised. Units are available with an integrated 6-way charging case that simultaneously stores and charges. The cases can be daisy-chained together and run off one socket, offering an efficient and professional ‘full rental’ solution.
The cute and highly dynamic little PinPoint is a tiny wireless pin-spot / birdie weighing just 700 grams with a single LED lightsource that outputs a punchy 300+ lumens.
IP65 rated, the PinPoint’s head is connected to its base via a flexible stainless steel ‘gooseneck’ for maximum focusability, and the brushed aluminium housing gives a stylish finish. Wireless controls include Wireless DMX and Bluetooth via CORE’s own tablet apps.
The base can be mounted vertically or horizontally, making it ideal for sitting on shelves, and it is magnetic for easy clamping to metal objects – perfect also for providing working light in challenging situations.
The standard battery life – when fully charged – is an impressive 8-10 hours and CORE presents a full solution rather than just a lightsource, with an expediently sized flightcase of 10 PinPoints providing a highly portable system including integral charging facility.
FLOOD30 units take the definition of ‘flood’ as a starting point and exude a stonking 7500 lumens!
They are available with a neutral white (4000K) output, and there is also an RGBW version available in CORE’s similar POINT30 unit. They can be powered and charged via mains and come in a compact 25 cm case weighing an expedient 8Kgs (lithium version).
