A very busy start to 2012 has resulted in West Midlands, UK, based video and AV specialist Central Presentations Ltd. (CPL) making substantial investments in its audio and AV departments.
In keeping with the company’s commitment to premium brands and being able to offer its clients the most innovative technologies, the very latest Panasonic HD projectors have been ordered to add to hire stock, together with a range of Sony HD broadcast cameras plus d&b’s compact T Series line array sound systems … all to service CPL’s on-going live event work.
Panasonic
The inventory of HD Panasonic projectors has been boosted with the addition of the new Panasonic PT-DZ21K 3-chip 20K DLP projectors, which are among the first delivered in the UK.
This is the smallest 20K projector currently on the market, which is a primary reason for the choice, making it ideal for all applications and in particular any shows challenged for space or weight loadings in the roof.
At 60Kgs, a massively powerful machine is now a two person lift and an ultimately more handleable product, with all the brightness you would expect due to a unique quad-lamp system.
CPL has also bought some Panasonic DZ770s – the 7K variant in the same range – so Panasonic HD projection solutions are now available in 7, 10 and 20K ranges to cover all needs.
Director Matthew Boyse comments “Panasonic has proved to be one of the most reliable and popular rental items, and these are among the brightest and most innovative currently available – which is where we like to be. We also receive excellent service and support from Panasonic”.
d&b
d&b’s T-Series has been added to CPL’s audio inventory following the purchase of Q-Series earlier in the year, and subsequent positive feedback from clients.
“The product’s a massive favourite and we just can’t get enough of it,” says Boyse, adding that the T-Series and its expedient dimensions, great audio quality and precise directional control is another perfect complement. The T-Series is ideal for numerous small to medium shows and events requiring anything from multiple flown line arrays to single standalone cabinets.
It is also a universally good cross-rental item.
Sony
CPL has now replaced its entire camera stock with solid state devices which are more reliable and robust, more cost effective to run as no tapes and disposables are required, and the digital format also makes the workflow and processing faster, more flexible and convenient.
The latest purchase included a quantity of HXR-MC1P HD Minicams, which are very small and perfect for shooting from different and challenging angles. The completely self-contained camera units can be used anywhere.
Included in the package were multiple Sony HXR-MC50P – the smallest of the broadcast range – and HXR-NX5P cameras, complete with a range of signal converters and other accessories.
Also on the list was a Panasonic AW-HE50s hot head camera and controller – a very neat design combining excellent image quality with smooth pan / tilt and zoom operation and full HD sensors offering a 1920 x 1080 resolution and a host of other features.
Coolux
CPL again leads the way in the UK taking delivery of the latest Coolux Pandora’s Box media server technology, with the first Version 5’s in the country. Pandora’s Box is one of the most powerful and flexible media server video control systems, and the units are used daily on a diverse range of jobs.
All of this reflects a generally buoyant market among CPL’s client base.
