As we embark on the countdown to the end of arguably one of the BBC’s most controversial and loved chat shows, Richard Martin Lighting continues to support Lighting Designer Chris Kempton on Friday Night with Jonathon Ross.
The show’s rig includes Stage Zooms, Mac 250’s, Mac 500’s, Mac 700’s, VL2000, Chroma Strips, Stage Bars, Pixel Pars, MR16 Battens with extras as and when required since 2002. This time it was the turn of the GLP Impressions/ XL which were the main focus whilst Groove Armada performed their latest hit featuring Will Young – ‘History’.
The chrome GLP Impression XL – purchased in July 2009 – offers 240 LEDs making the light output almost 3 times as bright but keeping the same quality and all other advantages of the Impression.
When recently asked about his choice of specification Chris said ‘I was delighted with the performance of the GLP units on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross.
We always try to achieve fresh and distinctive lighting looks on the show and the GLPs are a very powerful unit both in light output and visual impact.
The XL units look huge on HDTV and give an unsurpassed blast of colour and their range is good with delicate tints available as well as saturated colours.
They are also quiet, which is important on this show, and reliable. I’ll certainly be using them again on many of my shows.’
July will see the end of the show as Jonathon Ross embarks on what we are sure will be many an exciting and hugely popular endeavour. However until then, our Friday nights will continue to be packed with more A-List celebrity guests, a vast spectrum of musical acts and last but not least the un-questionable charm and charisma of Wossy himself!
