The British Troupe Championship Finals held in Wolverhampton opted for Harlequin Studio dance floor.
Harlequin Studio has established great popularity with dancers thanks to both the dance surface it provides and the ease with which an ordinary stage can be converted into a dance floor. The flooring used at the British Troupe Championships was transported to Wolverhampton in four Harlequin Roll Storage Bags and was laid and ready for use in just twenty minutes. The wooden stage floor on which it was put down was not suited to dance, being both too hard and with a surface that did not offer the right degree of traction. The special surface of Harlequin Studio provided a slip-resistant floor that gave the dancers confidence to concentrate on their performance without the fear of slipping or falling. Harlequin Studio also has a firm lightweight foam backing that provided some cushioning against the hard stage floor beneath. In fact Studio can be laid on any hard, smooth surface and stays firmly in place. It is also an excellent surface for a sprung sub-floor and useful for touring.
Harlequin Studio is well suited for dance schools which need to convert facilities such as community centres and village halls to be suitable for dance and of course thanks to the Harlequin Roll Storage Bags is easy to transport and store when not required.
Reporting on the British Troupe Championships, Martine Jones on behalf of the organiser’s writes, “There was an incredible air of excitement at Wolvehampton on Sunday 8th November. It was the finals of the 2009 British Troupe Championships and all the young dancers had battled their way to reach the Grand finals show, already winners of their dance categories. The competition is for amateur dance troupes of all ages and from anywhere in the UK, and has gone from strength to strength over the past 6 years. It was time for north and south to meet and compete following the semi-finals. The stage was set for a truly memorable final show, for Juniors and Intermediates in the morning and Seniors in the afternoon. The auditorium in the Wolverhampton Civic Centre looked great, and the finishing touch was provided by the dance floor supplied by Harlequin Flooring, who sponsor the event. Prizes were donated by sponsors ‘Dancing in the South East’ Magazine, and the winners prize by ‘Crazy Ladies Dancewear’.
Congratulations to all finalists, and section winners, and particularly to the overall winner, Harlequin Stage School from Liverpool with their breathtaking routine ‘The Legend of The Lion King’.”
