German rental company and L-Acoustics Rental Network Agent Sirius Showequipment AG provided an L-Acoustics K1/KUDO system for Pyromusikale 2009, three firework displays with musical accompaniment at the Tempelhof Airport, Berlin. Sirius is one of several international companies participating in the L-Acoustics K1/KUDO Pilot Program.
The total system provided by Sirius comprised 48 K1 line source cabinets, 12 K1 SB subs, 72 KUDO units, 24 SB28 subs and six ARCs, all driven by 78 LA8 amplified controllers in LA-RAK touring racks.
The challenge of this unique event was to synchronize the three huge firework displays with live jazz, pop, rock and classical music across the huge area of the former Berlin airport. “The four K1 towers were very far away from each other,” says Wolfgang “Schabbach” Neumann, CEO of Sirius Show equipment. “The K1/KUDO system had to cover an area of 400m by130m with an extension of six towers of 12 KUDOs.”
L-Acoustics design tools were used to plan out the system, including SoundVision professional modelling software and the LA Network Manager, which provides real time control and monitoring of the LA-RAKs. This software relieved a considerable amount of pressure for the technical team by facilitating their jobs, and everyone present, from the audience to musicians, pyrotechnic artists and technicians from across the world, was able to enjoy the powerful, highly directional sound of the K1/KUDO system.
“Every time I hear my K1 system, I have a smile on my face!” says Neumann, who was thrilled with the event and the performance of K1/KUDO.

hi, i have heard the new K1, it sounds great.but however i was dissappointed with the perfomance of the v-dosc in south africa.its very loud but not so intelligible , the abscence of 3khz -18khz made this experience nasty.
