With the P3-100™ System Controller for LED screens, Martin Professional enables video to finally join with lighting and motion control technologies for true visual integration.
Designed and built for dependable and rock solid performance, the P3-100 lets you treat LED screens like lighting instruments; brightness, image position, image rotation, etc. can be adjusted and changed instantly. And this happens independent from the source of the video. The P3-100 is not a media server but an intelligent interface between the source and the screen.
The P3-100 makes setting up an LED screen very straightforward and intuitive. It also contains a built-in graphical user interface with real time visualization of the video mapping – true ‘what you see is what you get’ emulation of what the screen is showing. The P3-100 also includes a number of other advanced features including built in scaling and de-interlacing. The integrated scaler adjusts images to fit the LED screen in real time while the de-interlacer enables regular video signals to be connected directly to the P3-100.
Video cabling has always been a headache. With the P3-100 Martin introduces P3 technology, bringing the plug and play nature of DMX to the world of video. Based on Gigabit Ethernet and Cat5e wiring, the P3 technology removes the inherent limitations of video-type protocols for easy connectivity and speed of set-up. The power of the Ethernet technology enables bi-directional communication with the LED screen, creating a network that greatly increases the speed of setup and mapping.
Splitting the signal can be done with standard off the shelf Gigabit Ethernet switches – no need for expensive video distribution amplifiers. Panels can be addressed in single pixel increments and addressing of any panel can be updated in real time. As a convenient time saver, built in test patterns can be used to check the screen before use. All LED panels communicates with the P3-100 to report any problems and all settings can be conveniently stored on a USB stick.
The P3 technology supports 500,000 pixels over single Cat5e link. And with 48 bit data updated up to 75 times per second, you get HD broadcast quality transmission with no stuttering and no compression – just smooth, fluid images. Latency (system delay) is virtually undetectable meaning the image on the LED screen is in perfect sync with your source.
This advanced processor supports multiple video protocols and resolutions including DVI (currently up to SXGA@75Hz) and analog video signals (CVBS, S-Video & Component), eliminating the need for an expensive external processor.
