RG Jones will present an overview of the sound for the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury, as part of the PLASA 2011 seminar programme, on Wednesday 14 September.
The seminar is an entry level primer on festival sound, designed for students taking accredited performing arts courses or apprenticeships who want to deepen their understanding of how festival audio production works.
Simon Honywill, Project Manager and FOH Engineer for RG Jones, will present the session. Simon is one of the most respected sound designers within the industry. When he’s not flying all over the world he is nurturing the next generation of sound designers at Deep Blue Sound – an established and specialised audio college.
Simon has been instrumental in the design and the implementation of the design for Glastonbury’s iconic Pyramid Stage which has been consistently successful for the last four years.
The presentation will cover subjects such as system design, logistics of high pressure turn-arounds on a stage that the world is watching, and catering to the needs of a broad range of artists.
The session will be held in the Victoria Room, Earls Court 2, from 3.30pm – 4.30pm on Wednesday 14 September.
Seminar admission is free to any PLASA 2011 visitor and can be booked at http://www.plasashow.com/education/wednesday/
