When Belgian construction group BESIX celebrated its 100th Anniversary, Robert Juliat followspots were present to help highlight the occasion.
The BESIX Group is the largest in Belgium, and operates in construction, roads, infrastructure, environmental, concessions and property development sectors. Most recently it has been a subcontractor on the five-year construction of Burj Khalifa in Dubai, currently the tallest building in the world, and ‘Yas Island’, where the first F1 Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi took place in October 2009.
The 100th Anniversary celebrations took the form of a spectacular show, “The Bridge”, performed at the 13,040 m² Palais 5 at Brussels Expo.
Luc Petit, designer and director of large scale spectaculars and long term associate of Franco Dragone, was brought in to create this special performance – which combined dance, acrobatics, lighting, music and effects – to tell the history of Besix and its values. A total of 70 performers were involved across the 12 sections of the show which was enjoyed by over 1000 guests.
Cutting through the output from a large rig of 190 moving lights were 4 Robert Juliat 2500 HMI Aramis followspots, provided by Procon Belgium, which were used to highlight the main performers and features of the show.
The show’s Lighting Designer and Producer, Christian Stenuit, says “We chose the Robert Juliat Aramis partly because it has a light output that could cut through the powerful moving lights but also because I have no reason to choose any other tools. Robert Juliat are simply the best followspots on the market!”
