S+H Technical, UK based specialist for LED visual effects, drapes and starcloths, supplied a spectacular LED dancefloor to enhance the atmosphere and vibes for a 10th anniversary party staged by award winning AV and event production company, Aztec.
The event took place in the Royal Oak Room at the Emirates Stadium in London, famously home to Arsenal FC, and was attended by 200 plus guests, including clients, colleagues, suppliers and friends of Aztec who were entertained live by the Danny Mills Band and a DJ.
As the best AV and production values go hand-in-hand with Aztec’s daily work practices and standards of excellence, “We wanted to make the environment that bit extra special, glamorous and funky for our guests, so we asked S+H to provide a 4 x 4 metre LED floor to add an extra WOW factor to the evening” explained Leo Speck, Aztec’s sales director.
Aztec has been working with Ilfracombe Devon based S+H for some years and has become a go-to contact for sourcing LED panels of different types, starcloth, pipe-and-drape systems and lots of other “bits and – often sparkly – products that we don’t stock in-house” said Leo.
“We have a great rapport with S+H – their service is always excellent, the products are of good quality and well maintained and they are great people to deal with. All that goes a long way!”
For the Aztec 10th celebration event, a large LED wall was set up onstage behind the band and with the LED floor installed centrally on the dancefloor, they could tie together the video and visuals being played on both rear screen and the dancefloor. The Video floor provided a perfect solution for the two video surfaces to be worked in unison, drawing people into the rhythm and flow of the onstage action.
Says S+H’s Terry Murtha, “One of the beauties of our video floor is that it can help really make a space intimate whilst adding excitement and, especially when used like this in conjunction with another screen surface, bringing extra depth to the room”.
The super-strong S+H Video Floor is manufactured specifically for the company and has been designed as a dedicated floor product. It is a new concept in digital expression … and therefore ideal for numerous scenarios.
This incredibly versatile product can be fed with video content from a selection of sources and tied in with other video surfaces like at the Aztec party, or it can be used as a pure lightsource or for displaying animated logos and other graphic material. The possibilities are endless!
The Video Floor frames are constructed from durable aluminium alloy and the fascias from rugged plastic. Each tile has an impressive weight loading of 500 Kgs which will endure the dynamic loading of lots of people bouncing, jumping and dancing all over it!
Using high-brightness 3-in-1 SMD LEDs to give a pitch of 20 mm, the Video Floor also utilizes dot-correction technology to produce consistent colour and super-luminosity. Other features include quick and straightforward assembly and an IP65 rating for outdoor use … although that wasn’t needed for this event, but it does also mean the product can deal with spilt drinks and other potential party and event hazards involving liquids!
