ShowTex theatre and event textile experts have a few surprises up their sleeves. All will be revealed at the industry’s top lighting and sound trade show PLASA in London from September 13-16, 2009.
After 25 years of remaining on the cutting edge of innovation in flame retardant expo fabrics, theatre curtains, and track systems, ShowTex will present a gallery of new industry solutions including a product launch of the Mesh Fabric Profile.
The new ShowTex Mesh Fabric Profile is the ideal solution for attaching no-sew netting to ceiling truss. Create great looking sprinkler ceilings by simply attaching the profile to truss, stretching any kind of mesh fabric over the steel profile’s integrated pins, and closing the sliding cover. The pins allow for one-step fabric adjustment and the attractive cover makes it unnecessary to finish fabric edges. Just hang and stretch and you’re ready to go! Best of all, stretch mesh fabrics can be reused even for displays of different shapes and sizes. The Mesh Fabric Profile comes standard in black with a length of 2m long and can be easily attached to truss constructions with specially designed profile clips.
Before the ShowTex Mesh Fabric Profile, trade show stands and sprinkler ceilings were limited to the initial truss frame and fabric size and shape. Decorative fabrics were attached every 20 cm or so directly to the truss with individual cords or ties. This added time and effort to the labour intensive process of build up and take down. If any alterations needed to take place afterwards, cords would need to be cut and the entire process completely repeated. Fabric edges had to be sewn and covered on the truss for an attractive display finish all adding up to a time consuming job and new fabric costs for each new truss format. Now, with the ShowTex Mesh Fabric Profile it’s possible to attach the profile to truss with the specially designed profile clips, stretch your fabric on the profile pins within seconds, and instantly finish fabric edges without sewing by sliding the cover closed. Removing fabric from truss is even easier too, just open the cover, pull fabric off, and release the profile clips. When combined with ShowTex Flame Retardant StretchTulle mesh fabric, the ceiling panel can be used again and again even if your next location or stand/ceiling design has different measurements.
The new profile is only one of the many new ShowTex products to be presented at the Plasa show. Visitors can expect to see one of a kind demonstrations of visual lighting and fabric effects and discover the latest in soft goods safety standards. Most importantly, guests can look forward to inspirational ideas for their next production or event!
