Bangalore-based Acoustic Control has installed India’s first Midas XL8 Live Performance System at software giant Infosys’ new auditorium at its sprawling, state-of-the-art campus.
Infosys has more than 50 offices, 103,000 employees, and development centers in India, China, Australia, the Czech Republic, Poland, the UK, Canada, and Japan. The Midas XL8 has provided a prestigious finishing touch to the company’s new auditorium, equipping the facility to host a wide variety of acts and events and satisfying the most demanding technical riders.
The Infosys XL8 comprises a control surface, five DL451I/O boxes, three DL451 I/O boxes at FOH and two on stage, four DL431 stage boxes, 10 DL471 DSP units, two DL461 router units and a DN9331 Klark Teknik Helix Rapide. The system will be used for events ranging from simple four-microphone conferences to orchestral performances. It will also be used by in-house bands, all of whom are thrilled to be using the same mixing console as the likes of Aerosmith and Metallica.
The XL8’s flexibility is already producing results for Infosys; at a recent political debate at the auditorium it took mere seconds to configure audio feeds to every TV camera crew in attendance. “The best feature of the console is the POP groups,” says Acoustic Control director Sanjay Mudartha. “The channels you want come to you; engineers don’t have to go looking for them in multiple layers. Fifteen minutes into the gig you forget that you are mixing on a digital console and you’re quite at home. I think that this is what separates Midas from the rest of the pack. Also their onboard dynamics and EQs are exemplary; they leave you wanting nothing more.”
One of India’s leading professional sound, lighting and video system design and installation companies, Acoustic Control also has a full service rental division.
Founded in 1981, Infosys is a global leader in the next generation of IT and consulting, with revenues of more than $4 billion.
