Following the success of the Wootton Bassett Bike Ride and the spectacular tribute made by the Bikers to the people of Wootton Bassett earlier this year, the charity Afghan Heroes organised and executed their inaugural Thunder Rally, with help from Stage Electrics Live Events Team.
The event which took place at Chepstow Racecourse provided the charity with the opportunity to thank the Bikers, the public and the Armed Forces for their support, with all proceeds from the event donated to the Afghan Heroes Charity, in support of the armed forces. For this exciting event Stage Electrics supplied a full technical solution which included staging, lighting and audio.
Within this package Stage Electrics supplied the 2 day event with a Prolyte 8m x 6m Arc roof system complete with a stage. This was equipped with lighting, PA and backline equipment and used for all the live performances from a variety of local cover bands throughout the event.
As part of the audio package, a PA system was set up in the main arena space to support various displays such as the army’s White Helmet Motorcycle Display Team, the Tigers Motorcycle Display Team and air displays from the Red Devils Parachute Team and the Battle of Britain aeroplanes. In addition to this, Stage Electrics also supplied crew and power.
John Burgess, Account Manager commented “the organisers of the thunder rally produced a fantastic event to aid in creating awareness of such a worthy cause. The Prolyte Arc roof was perfect for this event. Our experienced crew put it up in a relatively short period of time and it was nice to see it being used to keep the sun off the performers rather then the rain. Everyone who attended had a lot of enjoyment and fun throughout the 2 days and this was a rewarding event for Stage Electrics to be involved in”.
