Single source technical production specialist Universal Event Productions (UEP) based in Tring, UK, celebrates 15 years in the live events industry in massive style … staging a two day music extravaganza – Chilfest – on 5th and 6th July 2013.
The event – the first live pop concert on this scale to be held in the picturesque Hertfordshire town – was instigated by UEP’s MD Steve Butcher, and will also help raise money for local charity, the Iain Rennie Grove House Hospice Care (IRGH).
The festival site will be located at Pendley Activity Meadow – owned by event sponsor Pendley Manor – with a capacity of 7000 for each of the two nights.
The programme for Friday 5th July will include a stellar line up of contemporary pop artists including Little Mix, Loveable Rogues and Heather Small which are already confirmed.
Saturday’s 1980s themed evening of fun and funky haircuts will feature Tony Hadley, Howard Jones, Rick Astley, Midge Ure, Carol Decker and Hazel O’Connor.
Two nights of truly pop-tastic action packed with entertainment and fun!
All the technical infrastructure for Chilfest will be supplied by UEP, including backstage and site-wide power, stage lighting, LED screen technology, live cameras and sound.
Lighting and visuals will be designed by UEP’s James Fickling, and Trust Events will be supplying a 15 metre orbit style stage.
UEP’s expertise and aggregate skills will converge and utilise all the latest lighting, video and sound technologies available right out UEP’s hire stock – so it will also be a great showcase for the company.
Being a very special event in UEP’s history, audiences can expect, “Exceptionally high production values and more than a few presentational surprises” said a delighted Steve Butcher.
The idea had been in his head for some time, and now it’s a reality. He states “We are all so excited to be staging such a high profile project appealing to a wide cross-section of people, and very proud to be supporting two very worthwhile local charities” – the second one of AWA – Women supporting Women against domestic violence.
For Butcher, the event will be a perfect way to enable thousands of people and the local community to share a great weekend of performance.
UEP has been based in Tring for 14 years and has grown into one of the most successful technical design and production facilities in the UK, providing equipment and design services for a host of high profile clients including Sony, Nike, Microsoft and music artists like Kaiser Chiefs, Example, Scissor Sisters, Plan B and many more.
The immediate response to Chilfest tickets going on sale has been phenomenal, so the advice is to book early in order to avoid disappointment!
“We are thrilled with the positive reaction to the event’s announcement and the quality of the line up. ” says Butcher “Tickets are selling fast so we recommend that those wanting to attend book as soon as possible to guarantee their place at the biggest event the area has ever seen!”.
Tickets are available online at www.chilfest.co.uk as well as a selection of local high street retailers in Tring, Pitstone, Berkhamsted and Hemel Hempstead.
