Llanelli-based Vaughan Sound Installations recently installed public address and voice alarm systems in the new hospitality areas at Glamorgan Cricket Club’s new state-of-the-art SWALEC stadium in Cardiff.
This latest work was completed in readiness for the first Ashes test in Cardiff.
VSI was working with electrical contractor AMSER and main contractor Paramount, following their highly successful completion of the first phase of audio installation earlier in the year, during the ground’s initial refurbishment programme. For this, VSI provided a house audio/voice evacuation system for the stadium itself.
This new second phase saw the original TOA VX2000 stadium system extended to over 300 speakers in order to incorporate the newly constructed lounge and hospitality boxes, plus the revamped offices.
The main technical requirement was that it met .5 of the STIPA speech transmission index, and one of the challenges was the short timeframe for the work to be completed.
Further alterations to the existing system were undertaken to incorporate the new Trivision LED screens located at the River Taff end of the ground, and Baldwin Boxall disabled refuge and disabled alarm systems were also installed.
VSI, an Award winning specialist in the design and integration of sound and AV systems for the professional leisure and entertainment industry, has also completed sound installations at Llanelli RFC’s Parc y Scarlets stadium and sound and AV for the conference rooms and hospitality suites at Swansea’s Liberty Stadium.
